Loddon & Test Brand Development

Creating an approachable brand for a rural funding programme

The programme director for the Loddon & Test LEADER Programme approached us with a project to build a brand for her fund that would appeal to a younger, broader audience and would feel less intimidating and impersonal than a lot of government funds and grants.

The fund covers a mainly rural location and the potential recipients will all run rural businesses so the obvious first thought was to look to the rural landscape for inspirations.

Initial Concepts

We started off with a range of initial concepts exploring styles of logo, typography and colour palettes. The client was not exactly sure what they wanted so we started with quite a wide range of ideas.

Development

The client liked the option using a watercolour ampersand inspired by the Loddon and Test rivers. We developed a few other watercolour graphics that could be used throughout print and web applications to strengthen the brand look and feel. Together it created a softer, fresher feel for a government funding programme that was happily just what the client was looking for.

The Brand

We developed the brand elements and stationery templates for Loddon & Test along with guidelines for their website which they then developed themselves. For more information on the Loddon & Test LEADER Programme visit their website at  www.ruralfunding.co.uk.
